Job summary

Red Door Recruitment is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee the daily delivery schedule of building-materials to customers and sites around Cambridge. You will maximise fleet utilisation, coordinate drivers, and ensure on-time, accurate deliveries while maintaining exceptional customer service.

The role reports to the General Manager in a fast-paced, growing supplier environment, with opportunities for professional development and progression as the business expands.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, transport, distribution or operations management within building supplies is essential.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and construction products.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.
• Proactive problem solver able to make decisions under pressure.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience coordinating drivers, deliveries and transport operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of transport legislation and logistics best practice is advantageous.
• Hands-on, team-focused approach delivering excellent customer service.

• Liaise with customers regarding delivery schedules and updates.
• Work with suppliers, customers and internal teams to fulfill orders on time.
• Support stock movement planning and contribute to logistics process improvements.
• Promote the business as a trusted supplier of quality building materials locally.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, health and safety procedures, and policies.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Logistics Manager to join a well-established and growing supplier of building materials based in Cambridge.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient distribution of building materials to customers across the region. You will be responsible for coordinating daily transport operations, managing deliveries and fleet utilisation, and ensuring exceptional levels of customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities
