Job Description:

Residential Building Manager – Premium BTR Development, London

Salary: Up to £60,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm

Location: East London

Macdonald and Company are partnered with a leading real estate group to appoint a Residential Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a flagship Build to Rent (BTR) development in East London.

Are you passionate about delivering best-in-class service and creating exceptional living experiences? You’ll play a central role in ensuring this high-end residential community operates smoothly, safely, and with the highest standards of customer care. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for residents, leading on everything from building operations and resident engagement to health & safety compliance and service delivery.

What You'll Be Doing:

Resident Experience & Community Management

  • Be the first point of contact for residents, responding to queries, resolving issues, and fostering a warm, professional environment
  • Organise quarterly resident meetings and deliver building safety engagement strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support tenant engagement, retention, and satisfaction

Building Operations & Compliance

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the building, ensuring presentation, maintenance, and safety standards are upheld
  • Oversee contractors and cleaning teams, conduct regular site audits, and escalate major works as needed
  • Maintain compliance across health & safety, fire safety, statutory checks, and sustainability targets
  • Supervise on-site teams and collaborate with facilities, leasing, and tenancy colleagues
  • Manage service charge budgets, monitor operational spend, and liaise with procurement for key contracts
  • Support the management of commercial units within the building and work cross-functionally with estate and retail teams

About You:

We’re looking for a proactive and service-led leader with a background in managing premium residential buildings. You’ll need to be highly organised, confident managing a broad operational remit, and comfortable engaging with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders alike.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in a similar role within residential property management (BTR, PRS, leasehold or high-end rental preferred)
  • A solid understanding of building compliance, H&S, and service charge budgets
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset
  • ARLA Level 3 or similar qualifications (or a willingness to work towards them)

Why Join?

You’ll be part of a dynamic and values-led property group known for its quality, ambition, and community ethos. This is an opportunity to take real ownership of a landmark residential development and contribute to a team committed to raising the bar in rental living.
