Job summary

Encore in Uxbridge is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to handle first-line maintenance across site facilities. You will respond to routine repairs, monitor condition, and support improvements with the Warehouse Manager or Director.

Responsibilities include basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC tasks, equipment installation, and PAT testing, with collaboration from contractors as needed. Must have gas/electric basics and a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GCSE or equivalent.
• 1+ years of working as a maintenance person.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor fixes such as repairing locks and filling gaps.
• Check control panels and electrical wiring for issues.
• Install appliances and equipment as required.
• Carry out maintenance tasks like replacing bulbs and fittings.
• Conduct PAT electrical tests on assets.
• Respond to routine repair requests and coordinate with managers.
• Collaborate with contractors during renovations when needed.

Salary: Up to £31,000 (dependant on experience)

Position Overview

Responsible for the first line maintenance of the site(s) facilities. Responds to routine repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion, but also proactively monitors the condition of the site and services to suggest and our carry out improvements once agreed. Follows written and verbal instructions from the Warehouse Manager or Director. Collaborates with contractors as needed. Reports any issues to the Buildings & Logistics manager or Director.

Key Job Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

• Drive Results - Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
• Install appliances and equipment.
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs & Light fittings.
• Carry out electrical test (PAT) on office and nonrental assets.

Requirements and Skills

• Self-motivated to achieve without the need for constant line management.
• Understands company processes, follows procedures, and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately.
• Basic knowledge of decorating, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Experience using hand and electrical tools.
• Proven experience as assistant director or other similar positions.
• Able to priorities tasks and time spent.
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
