Building Maintenance Engineer (Plumbing)

The Harley Street Clinic, London
Full time 40 hours per week(Monday – Friday, 0800 - 1630 with on call and weekends also required 1 in 5)

We have an exceptional career opportunity for you to join HCA Healthcare UK as a Building Maintenance Engineer.

As part of the Estates team, you will provide a first class building maintenance service to the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work.

What you’ll do:

  • To work on planned preventative maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives
  • Water treatment duties such as Legionella awareness, chemical dosing, TMVs, dead leg removal, flushing, tap temperature monitoring
  • Keeping up to date records in Water folders
  • To respond to emergency and unforeseen maintenance requests
  • To carry out all work in adherence to Health and Safety, COSHH, Hospital policies and guidelines to ensure safety of staff, patients and visitors
  • To participate in an on call rota and attend on call duties as required
  • To liaise and oversee any external contractors
  • To provide technical advice & guidance to all hospital staff
  • To ensure that all equipment is audited, documented and any faults rectified
  • To be part of the clinics fire team & attend all courses to ensure current knowledge of legislation.

What you’ll bring:

  • Qualified in relevant discipline e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ plumbing, or an engineering building services qualification
  • Previous experience in water treatment duties such as Legionella awareness, chemical dosing, TMVs, dead leg removal, flushing, tap temperature monitoring
  • Previous experience within a Hospital or similar organisation
  • Health and Safety, COSHH
  • General knowledge of Fire regulations
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills
  • Must have a flexible approach to work
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
