This role covers electrical and mechanical disciplines and involves providing reactive and proactive maintenance in accordance with project requirements to all operational equipment.

You will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to optimize reliability and maintainability, ensuring all key performance indicators are met, and supervising contractors when required.

You will need to complete log book paperwork and close out jobs using a handheld device, perform tasks to high standards in line with company policies, and report deficiencies that could affect service delivery, health and safety, or the environment. Ensuring your own work is completed safely and diligently is essential.

You should be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), able to read technical drawings, and possess strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills to effectively liaise with colleagues, clients, visitors, and contractors.

Suitable training may be provided to ensure competency. You will be required to attend call-outs on a rota basis.

The job is based at a Police Station, requiring enhanced security vetting. An immediate start is not available.

Mitie is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.

For those in regulated activity, note that it is a criminal offense for barred individuals to apply for roles involving unsupervised work with vulnerable groups. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, requiring full disclosure of convictions and cautions, unless protected under DBS filtering rules.

We offer a range of benefits, including virtual GP services, financial wellbeing schemes, flexible holiday options, high street discounts, cycle-to-work schemes, life cover, pension schemes, share plans, and employee recognition awards, including monthly cash prizes and a top annual prize of £10,000.
