Job Description:

We are currently working with a local authority who are recruiting a permanent Building M&E and Compliance Manager to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service for the maintenance and improvement of council housing stock and the local environment.

Building M&E and Compliance Manager

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £47,745 per annum

Hybrid working arrangement: 2 days per week

Responsibilities:

• Manage all compliance and building safety matters across the council properties.
• Ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act and other relevant Health and Safety legislation.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with UK safety standards, including gas safety and electrical systems.
• Promptly address and resolve any non-compliance issues identified during inspections.
• Oversee specific safety inspections such as gas safety checks and fire risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audits.
• Achieve 100% access to council homes for mandatory gas servicing and electrical testing.
• Collaborate with Customer Liaison Officers to ensure resident cooperation and access.
• Operate within legal, financial, and policy constraints to meet safety and compliance goals.

Requirements:

• Building services-related degree or equivalent qualification or a degree in property.
• Understanding of compliance management.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Staff and project management experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows applications.
