Job Description:
We are currently working with a local authority who are recruiting a permanent Building M&E and Compliance Manager to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service for the maintenance and improvement of council housing stock and the local environment.
Building M&E and Compliance Manager
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £47,745 per annum
Hybrid working arrangement: 2 days per week
Responsibilities:
- Manage all compliance and building safety matters across the council properties.
- Ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act and other relevant Health and Safety legislation.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with UK safety standards, including gas safety and electrical systems.
- Promptly address and resolve any non-compliance issues identified during inspections.
- Oversee specific safety inspections such as gas safety checks and fire risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audits.
- Achieve 100% access to council homes for mandatory gas servicing and electrical testing.
- Collaborate with Customer Liaison Officers to ensure resident cooperation and access.
- Operate within legal, financial, and policy constraints to meet safety and compliance goals.
Requirements:
- Building services-related degree or equivalent qualification or a degree in property.
- Understanding of compliance management.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Staff and project management experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows applications.
