Job description

Salary: £40,600 – £43,700 (depending on experience) + 6% performance bonus

Working location: Aldershot/Farnborough area, Field Based

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Job summary:

As a Building Inspector, you will be a key member of our inspection service team, collaborating with registered builders to ensure homes meet NHBC Standards and Building Regulations, while also thriving under your expert guidance.

What you’ll be doing

Based from home but out and about daily, you’ll work with registered builders to ensure new homes meet NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and relevant legislation. You will build strong relationships with site managers, helping to identify and prevent construction defects. This role is vital in managing insurance risk and creating quality homes for buyers.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided. You’ll have control over your diary and the autonomy to perform your tasks effectively. Your workday begins when you leave home, and weekend work is not required to promote work/life balance.

Education and Qualifications
  • Construction-related qualification such as City and Guilds, HNC, HND, or NVQ (or equivalent) is preferred
  • Full Driving Licence is essential

NHBC supports technical staff in registering with the Building Safety Regulator, providing necessary training and funding for assessment schemes and registration.
