Qualifications:

To become a building information manager, you typically need at least 4 GCSEs grades A-C (9-4) and 2 A Levels or BTEC equivalent.

Level 3:

Study a BTEC Subsidiary or Extended Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment or Civil Engineering; or an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship in Built Environment Design or Civil Engineering.

Level 4, 5 & 6:

Study a HNC, HND, Higher Apprenticeship or Degree in Construction and the Built Environment, Civil Engineering, or Surveying.

Salary:
  • Newly trained BIM managers can earn £30,000 - £35,000
  • Trained BIM managers with some experience can earn £35,000 - £55,000
  • Senior BIM managers can earn £55,000 - £90,000
