Job description

Building Futures Support Worker

We have a vacancy in our Building Futures team, supporting and empowering young people in employment, and those with experience of care, to move on to independence across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Working with young people in their homes, you will be part of a small, supportive team and will manage your own caseload.

  • By adopting a flexible and creative approach to support, you will enable young people to build their independent living skills and develop their resilience.
  • Through being committed to your work, you will use your initiative and take a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • By adopting a confident approach, you will assess and support young people appropriately to manage risks.
  • Being curious and keen to develop your skills and understanding, you will build on your knowledge of housing management.
  • Being vigilant and responsible, you will ensure our properties provide a safe and welcoming environment for our young people.
  • Through effective joint working with external partners, you will ensure young people receive consistent support tailored to their needs.
  • By being well-organized and efficient, you will maintain accurate and timely records to support effective information sharing.

You will be part of the Transitions and Resilience team, reporting to the Building Futures Team Leader.

Contract details
  • Hours per week: 37.5, including bank holidays and one weekend in five. On-call rota participation required up to five weeks per year.
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Pay: £31,536 - £33,142 per annum, starting at the bottom of the scale, plus an on-call allowance of £150 per week.
  • Location: Central Bristol, near main train and bus stations and the city centre.
