About The Role
Working Hours: 35 Hours per week
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Additional Payments: £8,000 per year Market Rate Supplement and Essential Car User Allowance

This role is subject to -
Qualification-Qualified to degree level or equivalent, and be registered Building Inspector to at least a Class 3 (or working to being registered) – Specialist level in accordance with the Building Inspector Competence Framework.

We’ll look to you to support the Building Control Manager in the strategic development and performance of the section, and in implementing initiatives both within the service and at corporate level. In particular, you’ll focus on the financial and operational performance of the Building Control team.
Operating at regional and national level, you’ll engage in joint initiatives to improve standards in relation to buildings, building work and public safety, and to develop the partnerships we need to maintain the high standards of service delivery demanded by our Charter Mark status.

What you can expect from us…
About the Candidate
You will be Class 3 Registered (or working to your Class 3). You’ll be able to show that you have knowledge and experience of Building Control, with particular emphasis on the scrutiny of designs and inspection of work across the full spectrum of the construction industry, gained within either a Local Authority or Approved Inspector setting. You will be able to contribute to our service delivery and manage your own workload without day-to-day supervision, across all types of construction projects, from small domestic to complex commercial schemes.
Ideally you will be a chartered member of an appropriate Building Control related professional organisation (e.g. CABE, RICS, CIOB), but if you are still working towards this, and have suitable experience, we’d still love to hear from you
