Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Building Control Surveyor, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £43.65 - £55.20 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct full Building Control duties including plan checking, site inspections, dangerous structures, demolitions, and statutory consultations.
  • Act as lead inspector for complex building regulation applications and supervise junior inspectors as appropriate.
  • Manage and enforce compliance with building regulations and investigate contraventions, including court proceedings when necessary.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate case records in line with the Building Safety Regulator's Operational Standards Rules.
  • Support the Building Control Manager in the day-to-day operations, performance monitoring, and statutory compliance of the service.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a construction related discipline e.g. Building Surveying, Construction Management or similar, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Registered Building Inspector (RBI) with a maintained competency class and category commensurate with the more complex projects within NNC area.
