Job summary

You will manage your own caseload, provide professional leadership on Building Regulations, and help implement the Building Safety Regime across the borough. A flexible, hybrid working pattern and generous leave are included.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Act and Building Safety Act.
• Ability to manage caseloads and inspections across diverse developments.
• Experience in enforcement actions to secure compliance.
• Maintain accurate site records and application information.
• Prepare reports and deliver work programmes to targets.
• Act as ambassador for the Council and comply with Building Safety Regulator requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as professional lead on Building Regulations and Building Safety Act matters.
• Manage plan checking and site inspection caseloads.
• Take enforcement action when necessary to secure compliance.
• Investigate dangerous structures and oversee demolitions where needed.
• Maintain accurate site records and application information.
• Support colleagues and share best practice.
• Prepare reports and deliver work programmes to targets.
• Deputise for Building Control Technical Manager when appropriate.
