Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an award-winning Property Management company for the role of Building and Operational Safety Advisor.

This role supports the development and delivery of health, safety, and compliance strategies across a diverse residential property portfolio. The Building & Operational Safety Advisor is responsible for undertaking audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure legislative compliance, particularly with the Building Safety Act.

The advisor also provides expert guidance on fire safety, contractor management, and incident investigations. Close collaboration with operational, technical, and client teams is essential, as is a strong understanding of UK health and safety law. NEBOSH certification is .

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a safety-first culture across the business and managed sites.
  • Deliver health and safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Identify non-compliance issues and support the development of corrective action plans.
  • Support investigations into incidents, near-misses, and complaints, producing clear reports and recommendations.
  • Assist with safety case reports and documentation, especially for higher-risk buildings (HRBs).
  • Provide training sessions, toolbox talks, and inductions to staff and contractors.
  • Contribute to compliance reporting, dashboards, and trend monitoring.
  • Stay up to date with changes in health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Offer technical guidance on fire safety, contractor management, and safety.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to embed a culture of proactive safety and compliance.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations, and Fire Safety Order
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Experience in safety advisory or auditing roles, ideally in residential property, construction, or facilities management sectors
  • Excellent risk assessment and site inspection abilities, with a methodical and detail-focused approach
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to convey technical advice to non-specialists
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and producing actionable reports
  • Proficiency in delivering health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks
  • Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple sites and priorities
  • Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently and drive continuous improvement
