Job Description:

We are recruiting for a Building and Construction Project Leader on contract for a leading Aviation organisation based in Broughton, Cheshire.

The Project Construction Leader will be responsible for setting up and leading CAPEX projects from inception and feasibility, through to design and specification and final handover.

Role Description
  • Set-up and manage Multi-Functional Project Teams to deliver projects in accordance with internal requirements and compliance to company procedures.
  • Lead MFTs through the detailed design of Building Services for various projects including major plant replacement and refurbishment works.
  • Have an awareness of the associated maintenance and operation of engineering services, including condition surveys, service delivery audits, and plant replacement/lifecycle plans.
  • Apply industry standard design and calculation software.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and other design team members.
  • Prepare reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships.
  • Manage projects effectively with strong communication skills.
  • Monitor, audit, and validate progress of work packages and site works, ensuring technical compliance and H&S adherence.
Skills & Attributes
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a Multi-Functional Project Team, including external professionals.
  • Experience in FM as a senior PM role is preferred.
  • Experience in Capital Investment Project management and delivery is required.
  • Hold an ONC/HNC or equivalent in a Building Engineering Services design-related discipline.
  • Experience with Building Engineering Services refurbishment in existing buildings, focusing on small to medium projects.
  • Proven ability to take projects from inception to handover.
  • Ability to translate client briefs into construction requirements.
  • Good practical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Relevant professional membership (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE, IET).
  • Effective stakeholder communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety, security, and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and monitor project delivery plans.
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities.
  • Manage CAPEX business cases from initiation to close.
  • Create detailed design briefs for Building Services projects.
  • Proficient in IT tools like SharePoint, MS Project, G Suite.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, and design teams.
  • Prepare reports, drawings, specifications, and manage project costs.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships.
  • Oversee installation works and ensure technical and H&S compliance.

Candidate who has experience on the client side is preferred.

Experience in building and construction is essential.
