Job summary

Responsibilities

• Implement the procurement strategy defined by the Commodity Procurement Management and the Projects Multi-Functional-Teams (MFT).
• Manage procurement projects and tenders with multi-divisional scope across Building & Construction and international scope on demand.
• Develop and maintain an efficient supply chain capable of delivering goods/services.
• Ensure deliverables align with contracted cost, time and quality.
• Secure long-term alignment of the preferred supplier base with strategic needs.
• Maintain continuous commercial relationships with suppliers to secure best-in-class providers and mitigate risks.
• Conduct the procurement process to meet business needs and provide value to internal customers.
• Contribute to Savings Programmes through requirements harmonisation, standardisation, volume aggregation, and demand control.
• Provide input to support strategy development.

As the Building and Construction Buyer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Implementing the procurement strategy defined by the Commodity Procurement Management and the Projects Multi-Functional-Teams (MFT) within the scope of activity
• Manage procurement projects and call for tenders with multi-divisional scope within the scope of the Building & Construction Team and international scope on demand
• Develop and maintain an efficient supply chain capable to deliver goods/services
• Ensure that deliverables are in line with the contractual terms (cost, time, quality)
• Secure long-term alignment of the preferred supplier base with the long-term trans-divisional strategic needs
• Ensure continuous commercial relationship with suppliers in order to secure work with best-in-class suppliers and protect from contractual risks
• Conduct the procurement process in order to fulfil business needs and provide the internal customers with valued services in compliance with the General Procurement procedures and guidelines
• Deliver on initiatives contributing to Savings Programmes using the levers of requirements harmonisation/standardisation, challenge of the specifications, volume aggregation, and control of the demand
• Provide strategically relevant input to support the strategy development

Your skillset & experience:

• Experience within procurement, operations, or facility management
• Experience in setting up a procurement strategies in the area of responsibility (Building & Construction category)
• Experience in Building project management
• People Management skills to lead and motivate the teams
• Advanced Project Management skills to motivate cross-functional project teams in situations of often conflicting objectives (internal customer, supplier, budget)
• Knowledge about procurement building contracts
• Strong business analytical skills (e.g. business case studies, financial KPI)
