Job Description:

Purpose of the Role:
This role is part of the Heritage and TPC Build Team, contributing to the build, assembly, and running of Formula One cars, collaborating across multiple functions at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • The build and preparation of Formula One cars, transmission assemblies, sub-assemblies, and support equipment.
  • Supporting the running and servicing of cars at events worldwide.
  • Building to exact McLaren standards.
  • Ensuring tasks are completed right first time, often under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Ensuring all parts are built to a known configuration and conform to the Build Specification.
  • Communicating build-related quality issues to stakeholders.
  • Operating with a ‘zero fault’ ethos.
  • Supporting team members and providing support during busy periods.
  • Adhering to Health and Safety Guidelines at all times.
  • This role may involve unsociable hours and significant travel.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience delivering quality components under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a highly technical environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Experience with fault diagnosis in car components.
  • Understanding of modern Formula One systems and components.
  • Motorsport experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
