Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Build Preparation Coordinator to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a 12-month contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extensions.
Umbrella Pay Rate: GBP27.03 per hour.
Duties:
- The purpose of this role is to contribute to the development and delivery of business processes for build operations, resource and capacity planning for all programmes, build site, and unit moves logistics.
- You will help in identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects for the build facility, whilst managing day-to-day responsibilities of direct reports.
- The Build Preparation Coordinator role is varied daily and suits an individual capable of managing several tasks simultaneously.
- You will establish and maintain key cross-functional relationships within the business due to the varied functions involved.
Job Description:
- This position requires onsite work.
- Manage shortage parts post-allocation and oversee their movement between stores and build zones.
- Handle the management of missing, damaged, or wrong parts within build operations.
- Coordinate rework activities through material withdrawal processes and ensure correct parts are returned to support the build.
- Coordinate stakeholders such as Stores, NRP, Supply Chain, Build Planning, and Build Operations to ensure part kits are complete and issues are resolved.
- Investigate root causes of part pick issues using problem-solving methodologies.
- Maintain operational processes to meet strategic objectives.
- Coordinate parts returned from build and analyze reasons for parts not needed, reusing them where possible.
- Create and manage pick kit matrices for each build and update on Wrike.
- Interface with key stakeholders to ensure service and process objectives are met efficiently.
- Investigate parts queries and shortages using systems like GPIRS.
- Escalate risks to build operations related to shortages.
- Respond to reasonable requests from management or lead levels as needed.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient IT skills supporting data analysis and reporting, with intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VBA, Power Query), Tableau or Power BI, Wrike or Microsoft Project.
- Understanding of parts tracking via GPIRS/SAP or similar systems for controlling Bill of Materials.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a driving license for occasional travel between Whitley & Lyons Park.

- Data-driven approach with experience in Excel reporting, data merging, formulas, pivot tables, and charts.
Education:
- Background in Data Analytics, Production/Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, or Administration.
Desired IT Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VBA, Power Query, Custom Functions).
- Business Intelligence skills, capable of creating dashboards from scratch and maintaining them (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Project planning software skills, such as Microsoft Project, Oracle P6, Wrike, or similar tools.
