Looking for a hands-on Build Commissioning and Support Engineer to join the team in the UK. This position includes commissioning machines, installing them for customers, assembling mechanical and electrical components, and providing continuous field assistance. Proactive, technically adept, and customer-focused, ideal applicants will be able to operate both alone and cooperatively in a fast-paced setting.

Build Commissioning & Support Engineer - The Role:

Assembly Build

  • Assemble electro-mechanical subsystems based on design documentation
  • Follow and contribute to detailed build and QA procedures
  • Integrate subsystems into complete machines
  • Provide feedback to design teams to support continuous improvement

Testing & Commissioning

  • Power-up, test, and calibrate subsystems and machines
  • Verify safety systems and overall functionality
  • Collaborate with software team for machine validation
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)

Installation

  • Install and commission machines at customer sites (Worldwide)
  • Support Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Ensure all activities meet safety and quality standards

Customer Support

  • Provide on-site and remote maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Deliver scheduled servicing and emergency support as needed

Build Commissioning & Support Engineer - The Person:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar engineering role
  • Experience with complex machinery assembly and commissioning
  • Familiarity with both mechanical and electrical systems; software integration is a plus
  • Laser processing and/or optics experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability
  • Good documentation and organisational skills
  • Effective communication; confident in customer-facing situations
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly to meet project deadlines
