A leading sports organization seeks a qualified Sports Therapist to provide injury management services and medical cover for BUCS fixtures. The role involves both direct medical care for student-athletes and mentorship of Sports Therapy students, fostering a collaborative and dynamic working environment.

This role will involve providing high-quality injury assessment and acute injury management services to studentathletes, delivered whilst providing medical cover for BUCS fixtures on Wednesday afternoons/evenings. Additionally, the successful candidate will mentor Sports Therapy students as part of their placements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide medical cover for BUCS fixtures on Wednesday afternoons/evenings.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat sports-related injuries in student-athletes.
• Provide pitch-side first aid and emergency trauma care during BUCS fixtures.
• Collaborate with operational staff to provide appropriate medical coverage for all BUCS fixtures, highlighting any issues as they arise.
• Mentor and support Sports Therapy students, assisting with their learning and development.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in line with professional standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A degree in Sports Therapy or Physiotherapy – Essential.
• HCPC registration (for Physiotherapists) or Society of Sports Therapists registration (for sports therapists) – Essential.
• Appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
• Experience in sports injury management and rehabilitation, preferably in a university or high-performance sports environment.
• Experience in mentoring and supporting others
Skills and Attributes:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with athletes, coaches, placement students and staff.
• Ability to work flexibly, particularly on Wednesday afternoons/evenings.
• A proactive and evidence-based approach to injury management.
• Commitment to professional development and staying updated with the latest research and techniques in sports therapy/physiotherapy.
