Job summary

Central YMCA UK is recruiting a part-time Study Programme BTEC Sport Tutor to join the Education team at our Oldham centre. You will deliver Level 3 BTEC Sports Coaching and Development, monitor learner progress, and provide academic and pastoral support while integrating a professional football development programme.

Based at one of our football partner sites, you will help learners achieve recognised qualifications, progress to higher education or careers in sport, and foster an inclusive

Qualifications

  • An A Level 3 or degree-level qualification in Sport or related discipline is required.
  • Experience of teaching, training or coaching young people in education, community or sports settings.
  • Ability to engage, motivate and build positive relationships with diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and digital skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive learning and supporting learners to achieve their goals.
  • Desirable: PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Desirable: Experience delivering BTEC Level 3 Sport or Sports Coaching qualifications.
  • Desirable: Experience in FE or post-16 education settings.
  • Desirable: Experience embedding English and Maths into vocational learning.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of internal assessment and quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for Level 3 BTEC Sports Coaching and Development.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide academic and pastoral support.

Whether you're an experienced Further Education Sports Tutor or a Sports Professional looking to move into teaching, you'll be committed to creating engaging learning experiences that motivate learners to achieve their qualifications and progress to positive destinations.

Essential
  • A Level 3 or degree-level qualification in Sport or a related discipline.

About the Role

We're looking for a Study Programme BTEC Sport Tutor to join our Education team on a part‑time basis (24 hours per week, term time only) at our centre in Oldham.

Based at one of our football partner sites, you'll deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across our Level 3 BTEC Sports Coaching and Development programmes, supporting learners to achieve recognised qualifications while combining their studies with a professional football development programme.

You'll work closely with colleagues and our football partner to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to progress into higher education, apprenticeships or careers within the sport and active leisure sector.

Alongside teaching, you'll monitor learner progress, provide academic and pastoral support, and contribute to an outstanding learning experience that prepares young people for success both on and off the pitch.
