Purpose

The Content Author produces error-free, factually accurate assessments aligned with the subject specification. Core Services and Expectations include:

  • Maintaining professional integrity and representing Pearson positively.
  • Reading all policies and guidance prior to activities.
  • Respecting confidentiality of centres and learners.
  • Attending relevant meetings and training.
  • Adhering to deadlines and ensuring quality work.
  • Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion professionally.
  • Having suitable personal IT equipment and secure email.
  • Timely communication with Pearson and centres.
  • Reporting malpractice, maladministration, or safeguarding issues.

Role Specific Services and Expectations

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring assessment materials comply with policies, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion guidelines.
  • Producing high-quality, comprehensive, and appropriate assessment materials.
  • Advising on subject-specific matters and providing feedback.
  • Adhering to production schedules and keeping Pearson informed of availability.
  • Ensuring assessment materials meet specified levels of demand and are clear, error-free, and appropriately sourced.
  • Reviewing, updating, and signing off assessment materials throughout production.
  • Providing feedback and attending sign-off meetings.

Experience and Qualifications required:

Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of the content area, assessments, and curriculum development.
  • Ability to coordinate training and lead quality assurance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant teaching experience in the subject area within the last 8 years.
  • Extensive knowledge of Pearson assessments and standards within the last 5 years.
  • A UK-recognized teaching qualification.

Note: Pearson may request proof of qualifications upon successful application.
