BSL Teaching Assistant

Location: Teignbridge

Salary: £90-100 per day

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a qualification in British Sign Language/BSL? Are you looking for a new and rewarding opportunity in education?

TeacherActive is currently looking for a supportive and friendly Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a student with cochlear implants. You will be a valued part of the educational team, providing support and ensuring the highest quality education for the student. Due to the nature of the role, you will have to hold a qualification in British Sign Language/BSL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering the Key Stage 3/KS3, and Key Stage 4/KS4 curriculum using a combination of English and full BSL
• Adapting the lesson materials to ensure the student's needs are met
• Encouraging independence
• Providing BSL interpreting during classes and school events

You Will Need:

• Qualification in BSL
• Experience within a similar role
• Good verbal and written communication
• At least 6 months experience working with children and young people
