Job summary

CER Education is seeking dedicated One to One Teaching Assistants experienced in British Sign Language (BSL) for roles starting in September 2025. The ideal candidates will have Level 2 qualifications in BSL and be ready to support students with hearing impairments within inclusive educational settings. This position offers opportunities to work closely with experienced Teachers of the Deaf in a supportive and collaborative environment, ensuring maximum learning outcomes for students.

Qualifications

Job description

CER are looking to recruit specialist One to One Teaching Assistants with BSL experience for Sept 2025.

You will ideally have experience working with BSL and be qualified to Level 2. Experience within a HI Unit is preferred. The units are based as Hubs within different secondary and primary schools, supporting students one-to-one and within mainstream settings.

The school is a Unit within a main school, supported by a close and experienced team. We consider all skill levels, from Level 1 to Level 6, offering opportunities to learn from experienced Teachers of the Deaf.

Ideally, candidates will also have:

• Teaching or Support Qualification
• Experience within SEND

The roles involve working alongside a Teacher of the Deaf with classroom support. Class sizes are typically no more than 4 students. You will be part of a dedicated team experienced in working with HI students.
