Job summary

Job description

Key areas of responsibility will surround the operation of production machinery. Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping are maintained during the production of cans and while carrying out regular quality checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure health and safety compliance and policies are adhered to.
  • Complete daily routine checks and correct errors related to the area of responsibility.
  • Update relevant records for the work area as per the required frequency.
  • Use SPC tools (such as APRISO) to ensure the integrity of the cans.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the area.
  • Carry out cleaning duties on and around equipment.
  • Maintain spoilage levels from machines and equipment below the target levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance efficiency and reduce spoilage.
  • Control material usage (ODM’s, spare parts, etc.) in the work area.
  • Monitor equipment continuously to ensure production line efficiency remains above target levels.
  • Support trials of new materials and/or equipment.
  • Assist with the installation or commissioning of new equipment.
  • Operate forklift trucks (FLT) as required.
  • Perform size changes and diameter adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with Hygiene Management System policies.

Professional Requirements

Qualifications: GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English

Languages: English, written and verbal

Computer Skills/literacy: MS Office (Word and Excel); FLT License or willingness to train
