Job Description:

We are an established player in the Brokering sector with a growing portfolio of SME clients. We have embarked on a significant growth plan for the business and Brokering will play a larger and larger part in that plan. As a result, we have created a brand-new role to help catalyse the growth in our Brokering services.

We are looking for a Brokering Coach. This new role will reach across our Administration team and into our sales team, providing leadership, technical guidance and training, Governance, Partner relationship management and opportunity spotting. It’s a wide brief and has lots of potential for future growth. This could be a significant career-making platform for the right individual. We are seeking proven experience in Energy Brokering in the SME community, strong technical skills, training skills and people management skills in administration and sales areas including staff who work remotely. In addition, we are looking for someone to lead our relationships with energy suppliers, aggregators etc and to be our “Ambassador” in the Utilities Contracting sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning and Development:

Defining strategy and scope for our Brokering area and developing goals and objectives.

  • People Management:

Managing our administration and sales teams.

Offer guidance in product and service offerings to customers taking account of risks to our business.

  • Training and Knowledge Sharing:

Help our Brokering teams grow in terms of technical and market knowledge.

  • Reporting and Communication:

Preparing regular progress reports; communicating team status; and managing client relationships.

  • Quality Assurance:

Ensuring that all deliverables meet quality standards and requirements.

  • Budget Management:

Managing Brokering budgets, tracking costs, and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.

  • Problem Solving:

Identifying and resolving issues that may arise within the Brokering area.

Motivating and leading administration and sales teams, fostering collaboration, and providing guidance and support.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of Utilities Contracting, specifically in the Energy field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of utilities contracts in general, energy contracts more specifically, market conditions and movements, product/service developments, competitor activities etc.
  • Proven people management experience in Brokering settings or similar fields.
  • Knowledge of all statutory and regulatory requirements relating to the energy contracting sector.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with energy suppliers and aggregators as well as proven ability to manage relationships with those organisations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English both written and verbal.
  • Appropriate qualifications in the utilities contracting field. Evidence of prior training courses attended.
  • Excellent IT skills particularly MS Excel/Word/Project and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivation, ability to use own initiative, flexible, problem-solving approach.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Ability to produce and review technical contracts for clients, so attention to detail is paramount.
