Job Description:

Lockton - Crisis Management

A crisis event has always carried a high level of severity, whether that be financial, mortal, operational or reputational. Recent global dynamics have seen a significant uptick in frequency of crisis events which has made organisations around the world take note of their own crisis management plans.

In light of these factors, it’s clear that traditional insurance solutions do not provide the broad and responsive cover that businesses require.

The Lockton Crisis Management function comprises a team of market-leading insurance experts across Terrorism/Political Violence, Active Assailant, Product Recall, Reputational Risk and Special Crime (Kidnap and Ransom).

Lockton – Terrorism and Political Violence

The threat of political instability, terrorism and civil unrest are often unforeseen, unpredictable and can materialize in an instant. This presents challenges as political violence and terrorism risks are often excluded from many insurance policies.

The Lockton Terrorism team work closely with clients and network partners, in the design, placement and servicing of Terrorism and Political Violence programs globally. These programs are frequently tailored to include innovative coverages such as Active Assailant, Threat, Liability, and Impairment of Access.

Broker Support / Junior Broker Role – What is involved?

As a Broker Support / Junior Broker in the Terrorism team, you will join our market-leading team of insurance experts to provide innovative, detailed, and best practice service for clients across a wide-ranging portfolio.

You will work closely with the Brokers to provide technical support on client and market-facing work, including the timely completion of market slips, producing risk quotations, and reviewing client documentation. Additionally, you will engage with Lockton’s placement facilities which can accommodate inquiries from around the world.

This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, so previous experience in the insurance industry is helpful as a foundation. However, what is most important to us is your ability to learn the role, build strong working relationships, and have a positive, entrepreneurial approach to work.

What are the typical responsibilities as a Broker Support / Junior Broker?

  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is helpful.
  • Good attention to detail, interest in research and analysis, and ability to provide structured, reasoned decisions.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with technical, sales, operational colleagues, and market contacts.
  • Desire to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team in a growing organization to start or advance your insurance career.
