Care and Support commissioning is the ‘engine room’ of the statutory functions of the Director of Children’s Services (DCS) and the Director of Adult Social Services (DASS). This service supports Care and Support through various functions, including but not limited to:
The function ensures services are sourced in a compliant and efficient manner, delivering value for money for the council and high-quality services that meet individuals' needs. We have an 18-month opportunity to join the team to cover a staff member on Secondment.
The Broker role works closely with operational colleagues and Commissioners to ensure brokering tasks are completed promptly. Responsibilities include managing payments for care services for both Adults and Children, procuring care services for Adults, and care items for Children.
The ideal candidate will be dynamic, solutions-focused, and a strong relationship builder, accustomed to working in a high-pressure environment.
