Job summary

CBS News and Stations in London is offering a broadcast engineering placement to support the operation, maintenance and improvement of technical facilities in the London Bureau and offsite. You will assist with monitoring, troubleshooting and system upgrades while gaining on-the-job training in broadcast technology.

The role suits a recent school/college/university leaver and involves hands-on work across ingest, playout, switching, downlinking and OB setups, with a clear path to developing

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Interest in broadcast technology and willingness to learn on the job.
• Comfort with Windows/Office and basic IT concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation, maintenance and improvement of technical facilities in the London Bureau and offsite.
• Support with monitoring, troubleshooting and system upgrades to improve efficiency.
• Ingest footage, playout, switch video/audio lines, downlink via satellite or LiveU.
• Record Zoom calls, create comms links for IFB and 4-wire field communications.
• QA and monitor broadcast facilities; perform basic equipment repairs and OB setup.
