  • Maintain a proactive software upgrade and maintenance schedule, including managing licenses and application updates across broadcast technology environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex service-impacting issues using a wide range of broadcast and production monitoring tools.
  • Monitor system health and performance; initiate incident responses and implement preventative measures to reduce downtime.
  • Support all broadcast and control systems (e.g., video processors, control surfaces, audio networks, real-time engines) ensuring they function without interruption
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to escalate and resolve infrastructure or software issues in a timely manner.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with creative, events and operational teams to test, validate, and integrate content into Outernet's broadcast technology platforms and align technical solutions with business needs.

Monitoring & Process Improvement:

  • Document support activities, incidents, root causes, and resolutions to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the introduction of process improvements, optimising system uptime and team efficiency.
  • Support spatial and immersive audio workflows using technologies such as L-ISA or equivalent platforms.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Report to Broadcast Engineering Manager in relation to all Health & Safety obligations with adherence to all policies, risk assessments and ensure PPE is worn as prescribed.
  • Comply with all data protection regulations and ensure that all processes are in line with Ofcom standards.
  • Maintain accurate configuration records, licenses, network diagrams, and system change logs.
  • Keep up to date with all regulatory requirements in Broadcast Operations.

The job holder will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by their changing role. The job holder will do all tasks within their level of skills and abilities.

Required Skills & Experience
