A broadband services provider in Scarborough is seeking a Network Engineer to install gigabit-capable broadband services across various locations. Duties include fibre splicing, network cable routing, and troubleshooting. Candidates should have a strong understanding of networking fundamentals, a proven background in IT support, and a clean UK driving licence. The role offers variable wages based on experience and requires weekend work once a month.

Our dedicated IT team plays a central role in supporting daily operations, customer management, and systems through in-house software and infrastructure.
Brief job description:
Working alongside our other company network engineers to complete installations of gigabit-capable broadband services. Duties include visiting rural businesses, residential properties, business parks, caravan parks or radio towers. Working alongside our qualified and experienced network engineers you will perform jobs such as fibre splicing, network cable routing, wireless antenna installations, Wi-Fi router setups and network troubleshooting.
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
VLAN configuration and management
WiFi networks and Access Points
Switch configuration and maintenance
• Cat5e network cabling termination (RJ45 crimp tool) and cable testing.
• Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
• Knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, reliable, and collaborative working style.
• You'll need to be technically capable, have great communication skills, and a customer-focused approach.
• Full, clean UK driving licence is essential (drive company vans to sites).
• Over 21 years of age due to insurance policies.
Working pattern and contracted hours:
Currently Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch. Travel to-and-from customer sites is provided by the company and any travel hours after 5.30pm (e.g. a 20 minute journey returning home from a customer site) is not part of the contracted hours.
This is due to the variable work locations we have along the Yorkshire Coast. You will also be expected to work one weekend per month.
Wage: Variable - subject to each applicant’s skills and experience.
