Tradewind Recruitment are working with a special school in South Birmingham who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support with a deaf pupil at their nursery site. The role is to start ASAP, Monday-Friday 12pm-3:30pm with the possibility of additional hours to facilitate working a full day for the right candidate.
As a BSL Qualified TA, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between the pupil and their peers, teachers, and other staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to the deaf pupil, both inside and outside the classroom.
Assist the pupil with their learning activities, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and educational resources.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where the pupil feels valued and understood.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop personalized learning plans and strategies to meet the pupil's unique needs.
Promote independence and self-confidence in the pupil by encouraging their participation in various activities and social interactions.
Requirements:
Experience working with children with special needs, particularly deaf or hearing-impaired students.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and parents.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the pupil and the school environment.
