Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a British Sign Language (BSL) Learning Support Assistant in Aberystwyth to support a pupil with hearing impairment. This rewarding role involves providing one-to-one support, using BSL, and helping the pupil engage with the curriculum and thrive academically and socially.

Pay: £85.50 – 90.00 per day

Contract: Term‑time only

• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN/ALN team to deliver tailored support.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social development.
• Help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• BSL qualification or proven competency in British Sign Language (Level 2 or above desirable).
• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or ALN is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
