Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services Limited is recruiting a Mobile Electrical Engineer to provide planned and reactive maintenance across client electrical systems. You will ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently, delivering a high standard of service.

All tools are provided, including a company van, mobile phone, table and uniform, with a 42.5 hour week and overtime after 47.5 hours. The role requires City & Guilds Level 3 electrical installation and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Relevant Electrical Installation qualification (e.g. City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent).
• Inspection & Testing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2391-52).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret and analyse electrical systems.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Methodical approach to record keeping and reporting.
• Practical, hands‑on attitude with excellent problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to clients, ensuring work meets contractual requirements.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and rectify faults, arrange replacements to minimise downtime.
• Complete quality inspections to meet industry standards.
• Maintain records through our Elogbooks facilities management system.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with Lead Engineer and Support Desk.
• Participate in out-of-hours emergency call-out rota as required.
• Undertake hands-on tasks across client sites.
• Ensure compliance with policies, health & safety legislation, and regs.
• Pursue training and maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.
