Job Role: Support worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support worker / Healthcare assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support worker must have at least 6 months experience in care and be compassionate.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers help with the day-to-day care of patients, either in homes, hospitals, or in patients' own homes. They are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff along with other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Serving food or helping people eat
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients who are confined to bed to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to help reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around if difficult
• Assisting with toileting and collecting bedpans
• Maintaining tidiness of wards or patients' homes
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you may participate in induction training for new healthcare assistants.
