Briggs Marine is seeking an Officer of the Watch / Able Seaperson to join its UK fleet. You will balance navigational duties with deck operations while working with a supportive crew to deliver safe, reliable vessel services.

The role offers varied, hands-on responsibilities and opportunities to progress in a respected marine services company focused on safety, service excellence and innovation.

Qualifications

• Hold Officer of the Watch (Deck) II/1 Certificate of Competency.
• Have Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Certification.
• Possess STCW Personal Survival Techniques Certification.
• Carry STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Certification.
• Maintain STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities Certification.
• Have GMDSS General Operator's Certification.
• Hold Radar and ARPA Certification.
• Have Efficient Deck Hand Certification.

Responsabilités

• Support the Chief Officer in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
• Ensure all navigational charts and publications are maintained and corrected to date.
• Assist the Master with passage planning, ensuring all required charts and publications are available for each voyage.
• Lead mooring and anchoring operations when required.
• Deputise for the Chief Officer during periods of absence.
• Take charge of bridge watches, ensuring safe navigation and compliance with operational procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all environmental and pollution prevention requirements.
