Job description

Lycopodium Infrastructure is an Australian headquartered consultancy offering asset management, engineering, architectural and project delivery services to a wide range of private and public clients nationally and internationally. Our services are delivered across a number of industry sectors including government, transport, energy, utilities, property, buildings, resources infrastructure, defence and agriculture.

We are currently recruiting for a keen and enthusiastic Bridge & Structures Inspector/Examiner with experience within the rail sector to join our Newcastle based team.

Reporting to our Team Leader in our Rail Infrastructure Management Services Group, this position will involve, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

The tasks you'll perform
  • Working locally and Australia wide on a rostering system providing unbiased and independent advice to our Clients
  • Undertake Visual Structures Inspections.
  • Identification and assessment of defects.
  • Provide advice on repair scope and repair methods.
  • Committed to continual improvement and the introduction of new technology.
The expertise you'll bring
  • Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure (TLI21311)
  • Current Certificate III in Rail Structures (TLI32111) or 7 years combined relevant experience with steel, concrete, masonry and/or timber materials
The following additional units of competency:
  • TLIB3087A Examine Timber Structures
  • TLIB3088A Examine Steel Structures
  • TLIB3098A Examine Concrete / Masonry Structures
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction (White Card)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Proven ability to inspect and assess defects and recommend maintenance scopes to rectify
  • A fundamental understanding of rail industry standards
  • Ability to work alone and self-manage time according to rosters and planned work
  • Willingness to travel for short or extended periods of time
  • Sound level of technology and ability to apply in the field
  • A commitment to producing high quality work and ethical behaviour
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a practical approach to solving problems
