Stantec is seeking a Bridge Engineer / Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation team in the UK. You will contribute to the design, assessment, and delivery of bridge projects from concept through detailed design and construction, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

You will have a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and experience in bridge-related design or assessment, using relevant standards and software.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in bridge engineering, design or assessment.
• Experience using relevant design standards and engineering software.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly, both in writing and verbally.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• Proactive approach to learning and developing technical skills.
• Ideally progress towards or interest in ICE/IStructE chartership.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking the design and assessment of bridges and other civil engineering structures.
• Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Using appropriate design standards, guidance and engineering principles to develop robust solutions.
• Supporting structural inspections, assessments and investigations of existing structures.
• Contributing to feasibility, concept and detailed design work.
• Working collaboratively with engineers and technical specialists across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Supporting the delivery of projects to agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards.
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders where required.
• Contributing to technical reviews and helping to maintain high standards of engineering quality.
• Supporting the development of less experienced team members where appropriate.
• Taking an active role in your own professional development and working towards relevant professional qualifications.

About The Role:

About You:

You’ll be a motivated Bridge Engineer with a strong interest in structural engineering and a desire to develop your technical career.

You’ll have:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in bridge engineering, structural design or assessment.
• Experience using relevant design standards and engineering software.
• An understanding of the design and assessment of bridges and/or other civil engineering structures.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to communicate technical information clearly, both in writing and verbally.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• A proactive approach to learning and developing your technical skills.
• Ideally, progress towards or an interest in working towards professional qualification with ICE or IStructE.
