Job summary

KM Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Brickwork Trainer/Assessor for a centre-based role in East London with travel to learner workplaces. You will teach and assess learners pursuing Brickwork Apprenticeships, delivering both practical and theoretical competencies.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 2 NVQ in Brickwork and substantial bricklaying experience on new-build developments, including 1st/2nd fix.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 2 NVQ in Brickwork.
• Extensive bricklaying experience on new-build developments.
• Experience delivering Brickwork Apprenticeships or mentoring.
• Willingness to undertake teaching and assessing qualifications funded by the client.

Responsibilities

• Teach/assess learners toward Brickwork Apprenticeships across practical and theoretical competencies.
• Keep training materials up to date with standards.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners' needs.
• Provide guidance on decision making and progression.
• Ensure sessions are motivating and develop learners’ skills, knowledge and behaviours.
• Monitor attendance and progress through regular assessments.

Brickwork Trainer/Assessor

Location: East London - Centre based, with travel required for learner workplace visits

Salary: up to £56,000 (Salary depending on qualifications and experience & inclusive of location uplift)

Essential Criteria

• Must hold a minimum of a Level 2 NVQ in Brickwork, coupled with extensive bricklaying experience.
• Must have worked on new-build developments, with 1st and 2nd fix experience.
• Must have experience of delivering Brickwork Apprenticeships or ‘on the job’ mentoring.
• Willingness to undertake the teaching and assessing qualifications - funded by the client.
• Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.
• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Duties

• Teach/assess learners working towards Brickwork Apprenticeships, across practical and theoretical competencies.
• Ensure training materials are up to date and in‑line with organisational and regulatory standards.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
• Provide advice and guidance to learners relating to decision making and progression.
