Job summary

GREENLIGHT TRAINING LIMITED in Buckfastleigh offers an apprenticeship to become a bricklayer (level 2) with hands-on site experience alongside experienced staff. You’ll work on new build and refurbishment projects, learning setting out, bricklaying techniques and safety practices.

The apprenticeship runs about 1 year 9 months with 20% classroom training at GREENLIGHT TRAINING LIMITED. Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with two positions available and a possible start date of 21 November

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship includes on-the-job training and college study.
• Must be physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on new build and refurbishment projects of varying size and complexity.
• Lay bricks and blocks using mortar, hand tools and modern construction methods.
• Carry out simple setting out and check levels and alignment.
• Shape and trim materials to meet design specifications.
• Work outdoors as part of a site team, liaising with other trades.
• Follow health, safety, quality and sustainability standards.
• High industry demand with opportunities to specialise and progress.
