Job summary

The Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Practitioner in Breast Services. The post offers autonomous clinical practice at an advanced level, with accountability for decisions, and leadership, education and research responsibilities at master's level.

The successful candidate will work with eight consultant surgeons, a consultant breast care nurse and a fellow ACP, and must hold an ACP MSc Apprenticeship with an independent prescribing qualification.

Qualifications

• Completion of ACP MSc Apprenticeship.
• Recognised independent prescribing qualification.
• Current NMC registration, or paramedic or AHP registration with prescribing annotation.

Responsibilities

• Exercise autonomy and decision-making in complex, uncertain situations with accountability.
• Work as an independent prescriber within scope of practice and relevant legislative authority.
• Practise at an advanced level across clinical practice, leadership, management, education and research.
• Demonstrate core advanced practice capabilities and specialty-specific clinical competence.
• Work closely with the consultant surgeons, consultant breast care nurse and advanced practitioner team.
• Support delivery of breast services from all localities, including the Sunderland clinic at Grindon Primary Care Centre.
