Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team of well established Breast Clinical Nurse Specialists/ Breast Care Nurses, at the Jasmine Centre Doncaster Site, Princess Diana Breast Unit Bassetlaw Site and Off Site Oncology Hubs.

The role involves offering specialist information and providing psychological support to patients and families who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, through both Breast Screening and Symptomatic pathways.

This interesting and challenging role includes working within an MDT to provide advise, holistic care and support to patients attending the Breast Service.

Candidates should have a high level of independence, excellent communication skills and the ability to work automatously as part of the Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist/ Breast Care team.

This role will include working both at Doncaster Hospital, Bassetlaw Hospital and at Off Site Oncology Hubs.

Previous experience in the Care and Management of Breast disease or oncology is desirable.

Specialist training will be provide by the Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist/ Breast Care Nurse team in house and external.

You must be willing to undertake specialist course at post grad level. This post will off development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate for the Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist role will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients who require treatment for Breast Cancer in the primary setting. The successful candidate will need to be able to work automatously as well as part of a team and will be responsible for providing high standard of care to Breast Cancer patients.

You will have their own case load of patients, as well as supporting other members of the Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist team and their patients. You will be responsible for providing psychological care, at a high standard (level 2) and act as patients advocate.
