Job summary

The Milner York, part of RBH, is seeking a Breakfast Supervisor to lead the early-morning team and ensure a warm, efficient service from arrival to closing of breakfast service.

You will brief and support staff, maintain high standards of presentation and hygiene, work closely with the kitchen, and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a busy York hotel environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality or breakfast environment, ideally with supervisory or leadership experience.
Confident, approachable personality with a genuine passion for delivering excellent guest experiences.
Strong leadership and the ability to motivate and support a team during a busy morning service.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with guest queries and resolve issues professionally.
Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the breakfast team to deliver a warm, welcoming and efficient service from the moment our early-rising guests arrive.
Brief and support the breakfast team each morning, ensuring everyone understands their roles, responsibilities and service priorities.
Oversee the set-up of the breakfast buffet and dining area, ensuring everything is fresh, inviting and presented to a high standard.
Monitor the buffet throughout service, ensuring food is replenished promptly and presentation remains excellent.
Ensure tea, coffee and additional breakfast orders are delivered efficiently and that guests receive attentive, friendly service.
Take responsibility for the smooth running of the breakfast operation, responding confidently to guest requests and resolving any issues that arise.
Lead by example when welcoming guests, creating a positive and memorable start to their day.
Ensure tables are cleared and reset efficiently, maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment throughout service.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure food preparation, replenishment and service run smoothly.
Support with basic food preparation and food handling when required.
Ensure all food hygiene, cleanliness, health & safety and company standards are consistently maintained.
Provide local knowledge and recommendations to guests, helping them make the most of their stay in York.
Support the management team with training, coaching and development of breakfast colleagues.
Monitor team performance and provide feedback and support to ensure consistently high standards.
Assist with stock control, wastage management and ordering where required.

Breakfast Supervisor What you'll be doing

What We're Looking For

Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team during a busy morning service.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with guest queries and resolve issues professionally.
Great attention to detail, with pride in maintaining high standards of presentation, service and cleanliness.
Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively during busy periods.
A team player who enjoys working closely with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
A good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety standards.
Flexibility and reliability, including the ability to work early mornings, weekends and bank holidays.
A positive attitude and willingness to get involved – we're looking for someone who leads from the front.
