What skills and experience we're looking for

Main purposes of the job

The general principle that the children must be supervised at all times in a suitable manner must be adhered to, thus securing the safety, welfare and good conduct of the pupils.

Experience

  • Experience of working with children of relevant age

Qualifications/Training

  • Desirable – Relevant Level 3 Qualification
  • Paediatric First Aid Training

Knowledge/Skills

  • Assist in providing and supervising safe play activities for children
  • Set out equipment before each session and clear away at the end
  • Foster each child's self-image and esteem and establish relationships based on mutual respect
  • Provide nutritious and healthy meals for children in the club
  • Promote understanding of health issues such as healthy eating and dental health
  • Ensure good relations between parents and staff
  • Maintain equality of opportunity for all children and families
  • Follow the school's Behaviour Policy
  • Provide support to children, including first aid if trained
  • Attend training as reasonably requested
  • Supervise pupils indoors and outdoors, adhering to Health and Safety regulations
  • Liaise with school staff as required
  • Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Headteacher or Leadership Team
