Job summary

The Signet Group is seeking an experienced Breakfast Chef to join our Kitchen team at The Alfriston in East Sussex. You will handle early shifts, prep mise en place, manage stocks, and ensure dishes follow our recipes with precise portions for a premium breakfast service.

You will mentor junior chefs, maintain hygiene standards, and take advantage of career development, staff discounts, Wagestream access, and other benefits as part of our welcoming team.

Qualifications

• You will work Sundays and Mondays from 6am - 11am.
• Maintain our stocks, ensuring all remain in the best condition for breakfast service.
• Prepare all relevant mise en place for your section, under the guidance of the Sous/Head Chef.
• Ensure that all dishes are being prepared against our recipe cards, with correct quantities to minimise waste.
• Ensure all dishes reach the hot plate or pass correctly garnished, the correct portion and size, presented on the prescribed serving dish in the prescribed manner.
• Support all commis chefs, mentoring them through the training programme.
• Communicate any anticipated shortages promptly to the Sous or Head chef.
• Maintain a professional and supportive work environment, respecting all Chefs.
• Engage with training programmes to advance culinary skills as required.
• Follow Hygiene, Health and Safety regulations and record compliance.

• Engage with relevant training programmes to advance your culinary skills, as and when required.
• Ensure that all company rules and regulations relating to Hygiene, Health and Safety are being strictly adhered to and recorded correctly.
