Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Breakfast Chef to lead the breakfast service, owning mise en place, stock control, and the timely delivery of high‑quality, beautifully presented dishes to our guests.

You will work in a busy, high‑profile venue, supporting daily kitchen operation and lunch prep as needed, with ongoing training through Cookhouse & House Tonic programmes and team events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a busy high-profile venue.
• Passion for food and attention to detail.
• Basic food safety and hygiene knowledge.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all breakfast dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and timing.
• Ensure mise en place is completed before service.
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are met.
• Attend regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn about menu changes and tastings.
• Support junior team members through guidance and collaboration.
• Assist in preparation of team meals considering dietary needs.
• Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning, improvement and teamwork.
• Take full responsibility for the breakfast section, ensuring smooth service and clean-down post-service.
• Wrap unused items and store them properly at end of service.

At Soho House, a Breakfast Chef is the first point of contact in the kitchen each morning, the Breakfast Chef takes ownership of early-day operations and ensures the delivery of high-quality, beautifully presented, and nutritious breakfast dishes.

Your main responsibilities will be mise en place, stock control, and menu execution during breakfast hours, and may assist in preparation for lunch service. This includes preparing food before service, setting up and stocking kitchen stations and plating to company standards.

• Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning, improvement, and teamwork.
• Take full responsibility for the breakfast section, ensuring smooth and timely service and clean-down post-service.
• Wrapping unused items and storing them in proper area at the end of service.

What We Are Looking For…

A successful Breakfast Chef for Soho House will ideally have up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue and a natural flair for first class service. You’ll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity
• Passion for food, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
• Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, proactive, and respectful attitude in a busy kitchen environment.
• Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 1 or 2) is a plus but not essential.
• Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School
• Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously
