Job summary

THE PIG-at Combe in Honiton is seeking a Breakfast Chef to lead the morning service. The role offers 30 hours per week over four days with fixed shift times, aiming for work-life balance.

You will manage breakfast prep, a made-to-order menu, and breakfast buffet standards, with training and development opportunities provided. There’s no late nights, and you’ll often work alone, requiring confidence, organisation, and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• Basic cooking skills essential for confidently preparing and cooking the breakfast menu.
• Highly organised and committed to the role.
• Able to work alone during busy breakfast service.

Responsibilities

• Run the breakfast service and ensure standards for made-to-order and breakfast buffet are met.
• Prepare breakfast items for the following day and assist with day-ahead kitchen tasks.
• Provide staff lunch and support the kitchen as needed.

Location: THE PIG-at Combe, Honiton, EX14 3AD

Salary: £13.41 - 14.50 per hour (OTE £16.21 - 17.40 per hour, including tronc)

Hours: From 30 hours per week over 4 days

With no late-nights or evenings, plus fixed shift times to allow you to balance work and home, this could be the best job in the kitchen.

To be our Breakfast Chef you will need to be committed to the role and highly organised. You will often work alone, so will need to be confident to manage a busy breakfast service. There’s no need to have been to catering college or have a high level of qualifications. However, basic skills to confidently prepare and cook the breakfast menu is essential.

As our Breakfast Chef you will be running the breakfast service, ensuring all standards are maintained for both the made to order menu and breakfast buffet. You will be responsible for the prep of all breakfast items for the following day, plus general support to the kitchen for the day ahead, including providing staff lunch.

We will offer full training plus additional learning support in the form of official qualifications and commitment to your development.
