Breakfast and After School Club Leader (Full-time, Temporary, 30 Hours per week)

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

Salary: £17,473-£18,036 per annum (depending on experience and/or qualifications)

Contract Duration: September 2025 - July 2026

The School and Role

A Primary School in Newcastle Upon Tyne is seeking to employ a Breakfast and After School Club Lead to support their new wraparound provision. The successful candidate will work from 07:30-09:00 and 15:00-18:00 daily, with an additional 7.5 hours to be completed during the school day. The role involves managing the club and supporting pupils from EYFS to KS2 by supervising and implementing the programme.

Requirements

The ideal Teaching Assistant will:

• Advise, support, and assist the Head Teacher in developing an effective activities programme, ensuring appropriate equipment, facilities, and services are available.
• Supervise the work of the Breakfast/After School Club Assistant(s).
• Undertake activities with pupils that promote the development of their intellectual, moral, spiritual, and social skills.
• Respond to the practical needs of children with identified special educational needs.
• Provide general care and welfare, responding appropriately to the social, emotional, and physical needs of pupils.
• Assist in managing income and expenditure for the club, maintaining relevant records.
• Promote and implement the school's Equality Policy in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
• Safeguard the welfare of children and young people under your responsibility or contact.
• Help maintain a healthy, safe, and secure environment, acting in accordance with school policies and procedures.
• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Qualification or above.
