Job Description:

We are looking to appoint an organised and efficient Breakfast and Afterschool Club Deputy Manager to with excellent communication, interpersonal and line management skills.

This position is responsible for the delivery of the breakfast club and afterschool provision. They will be responsible for all aspects of supervising and delivering the programme, managing the play environment, delivering high quality afterschool provision, engaging with the children, dealing with parents and supervising the playworker staff.

The role requires a highly child centred approach, the development of creative play contexts, and a strong understanding of safeguarding.

Previous experience of working with children is essential, and the person needs to demonstrate an understanding of offering care to our children. Previous management experience is desirable.

Contract Term Time Only - 38 weeks + INSET days (this will be paid in addition to the salary)

Contracted Hours Monday to Friday, total of 22.5 hours per week:

Salary Scale PS6 £29,697 FTE, (actual/pro-rata salary £15,559.32 pa)

The successful candidate will:

  • bring in fresh ideas/activities to support children with their learning and development following their interests and encouraging them to take part in planning their own activities. In doing so manage the rotation of toys, providing a fresh concept of play for the children.
  • assist in preparing breakfast and snack meals for the children adopting a high level of food hygiene.
  • develop and maintain positive relationships with all colleagues by working effectively as a member of the school staff team.
