Position: Breakdown Controller

Location: Halifax

Salary: £29,870

Hours: Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.00pm

Contract: Permanent position

Duties of the Breakdown Controller

• Take inbound calls from customers regarding vehicle faults and breakdown/repair requests within the UK.
• Liaise with internal Mobile Service Engineers, third-party repairers, or schedule for the following day, ensuring the customer is kept updated at all times.
• Handle customer repair and breakdown requests promptly and cost-effectively, including work abroad.
• Manage customer enquiries via calls/emails and log repair notifications.
• Allocate appropriate Field Service Engineer responses to meet customer needs.
• Proactively update customers on job progress.
• Ensure maximum utilization of Field Service Engineering resources based on capacity and location.
• Accurately record all field service vehicle parts sales.

Required Skills

• Experience in a similar breakdown controller role, preferably within the commercial vehicle sector.
• Knowledge of the HGV sector is advantageous.
