Job description

Bolton School Foundation is seeking to engage the services of a self-employed part-time brass teacher to join a successful team of instrumental teachers in its Music Departments.

Details

The Foundation has thriving, fully-resourced music departments with over 30 specialist instrumental tutors providing weekly tuition during term time. Pupils are entered for Associated Board and Trinity exams, and many senior pupils study GCSE and A-level music.

There will potentially be 14 pupils requiring 35-minute 1:1 lessons, with scope to increase pupil numbers. There may also be opportunities for ensemble coaching. Applications are invited from enthusiastic, experienced brass teachers willing to teach from beginner to advanced levels on a self-employed basis. Current student instruments include cornet, trumpet, French horn, tenor horn, euphonium, and trombone.

About Bolton School

With approximately 2,500 pupils, Bolton School is a large, thriving, academically selective day school located on a 32-acre campus, just a mile from the town centre. It is easily accessible from major cities and countryside.

In Autumn 2021, the School Foundation restructured leadership, creating the role of Head of Foundation overseeing three divisions: Girls’, Boys’, and Primary. Senior officers include the Heads of each division, the Head of Foundation, Clerk, and Treasurer, who report to the Governors.

The school comprises two connected buildings housing the Boys’ and Girls’ Senior Schools, offering traditional academic education from age 11, and a Primary Division with separate Junior Schools and a co-educational Infant School and Nursery.
